Green H2 Balance of Plants

HGPL has acquired proven European technology for Green H2 Alkaline Water Electrolysis technology-based balance of Plants consisting of Gas Lye Separation units and De Oxo Dryer/ Hydrogen Purification Units & being modular & skid-based in nature, it can be configured for a wide capacity & Flow rates. These balance of plant units are operated with a PLC-based control panel for ensuring safe and fully automatic operations while meeting international standards and parameters to generate hydrogen with a purity of up to 99.999%.

We also design, engineer & manufacture on-site hydrogen plants based on Hydrocarbons (NG-SMR & Methanol) for higher Capacities.

  • GREEN HYDROGEN – BALANCE OF PLANT: HGPL is the first Indian private company having European technology to design, engineer, manufacture, assemble, test, and commission balance of plant for water electrolysis based Hydrogen plants consisting of (i) Gas Lye Separator unit & (ii) Hydrogen Deoxo dryer Units ( H2 Purification Units ).

Hydrogen gas is not available in independent form in nature on the earth’s surface. Hence it is to be extracted from various sources of Hydrogen. The two most significant sources of Hydrogen are – Water and Hydrocarbons (fossils).

HGPL uses different technologies for the production of Hydrogen gas from Water and Hydrocarbons.

    Green Hydrogen: It is produced using electrolysis of water with electricity generated by renewable energy. The carbon intensity ultimately depends on the carbon neutrality of the source of electricity (i.e., the more renewable energy there is in the electricity fuel mix, the “greener” the hydrogen produced).

    What is the main concern about producing green hydrogen?
    High energy consumption: the production of hydrogen in general and green hydrogen in particular requires more energy than other fuels. Safety issues: hydrogen is a highly volatile and flammable element and extensive safety measures are therefore required to prevent leakage and explosions.
    What are the methods of hydrogen storage&transportation?
    Hydrogen storage and transportation methods mainly include high-pressure gas and liquefaction hydrogen, as well as metal hydride hydrogen storage and organic compound hydrogen storage. View from applications, at present, the most widely known application is hydrogen fuel cell vehicle (FCV).
